TODDLER/PLAY CIRCLE PROGRAM
Central Nursery School offers two programs for parents and their young children.
PLAY CIRCLE is open to children who are fifteen months to twenty-one months and TODDLER
CIRCLE for those who are twenty-one months to three years. Children are accompanied by
a parent or caregiver weekly for an hour and a half.
The joy of learning through creativity and discovery is experienced by both parent
and toddler. There are many opportunities to learn, to play and to establish new
friendships. The primary goal is to enable the child to experience less fear of the
environment and to develop confidence, control and security with new people and places.
Emphasis is placed on child development issues as parents discover their child’s
learning style and share in spontaneous and creative experiences. Parenting skills are
refined within this caring, sharing environment.
PROCEDURES
- One parent or caregiver attends each class session with child.
- The class meets once a week for one and a half hours.
- The schedule of the morning is free choice of activity, group circle time,
snack and outdoor play.
- This is a flexible program with some decisions made by group process.
Suggestions are welcome.
